Yes, they are magnets on the side of a refrigerator. And yes, some of them stand out more than others. But each one is a representation of something important, at least to me. My husband and I like to travel and these are the mementos I treat myself to.As you can see, we’ve been to New York and visited various museums, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We visited Springfield, Illinois–Land of Lincoln. Washington D.C. –the Holocaust Museum, among many others. And there’s Boston, Vermont, Chicago, Milwaukee, etc. Place that have brought a lot of happiness to me, others that have brought tears. But not just places. Places stand for people, for history. Tomorrow we are going to Connecticut for the first time so there will be a new magnet to join the others. And new inspiration for my writing.
Follow me on Facebook. And if you haven’t read “My Joe: A Reflection,” please do. Go to edifyfiction.com, click on issues and then the June issue. The short story is on page 17. If you so choose, please go back to the first page of the story after you’ve read it and you will see a little icon. If you click on that, it will take you to a comment page.
There’s one more week for my giveaway on Goodreads. If you haven’t created an account (it’s free) do so. You can search for “Envelopes of Hope” and sign up to try and win a free book. Or of course it’s on amazon.
